First Presbyterian Church committee and board meetings are as follows:

Session meets the fourth Tuesday in the church parlor. Winter months 7:30 p.m. and Summer months 8 p.m.

Properties Committee meets the third Monday at 7:00 pm. every month of the year. Responsibilities: A board that is separate but subordinate to the session. Officers of the church corporation, general and particular oversight of the care and maintenance of all church properties and stewardship of church monies, meet with the church treasurer, collect and bank money after services, approve and pay all bills, decide whether to allow special expenses, arrange for maintenance and repair of all church buildings and grounds, update and improve equipment, review request for use of building and grounds, maintain rules for such use, prepare a tentative budget each year to be recommended to session for approval, review the finances for the fiscal year and recommend to session any changes in spending, pledges. Two trustees will serve on the Memorial Foundation.

Christian Education Committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. with no meeting in July. - Responsibilities: Sunday School, youth groups, Vacation Bible School, teacher recruitment and support, adult ministries, youth camps and retreats, senior graduation recognition, Third Grade Bible presentation, Biblical resources curriculum.

Ministry and Mission Committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. with no meeting in July. - Responsibilities: One Great Hour of Sharing, Sunday School Offering, Christmas Offering, Unified Mission Support, Special Mission Support, College Grants and seminary support, working with the greater Presbyterian Church in mission giving, Westminster Woods. Supporting our missionaries, mission fairs, interpret the mission of the General Assembly, Synod, Presbytery, Radio-Newspaper Ads, El Centro Ministry, Food Pantry, Local Benevolence.

Outreach and Fellowship Committee meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. with no meeting in July. - Responsibilities: Meals On Wheels, Ecumenical Activities, Sermon Tapes, Visit New Members, Work with El Centro, Easter Sunrise Breakfast, Prayer Chain, Coffee Hour, Thanksgiving Baskets.
Meals on Wheels - Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals for a week when our church’s turn is next in the community (approximately every six weeks.)
Personnel Committee - Responsibilities: work with and not to usurp the Head of Staff’s responsibilities. In the hiring process, recommends to session potential new employee. Session interviews the candidate and makes decision to hire.

Personnel Committee meets the first Thursday of each month at
5:30 p.m. with no meeting in July.

Worship Committee meets on first Tuesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. with no meeting in July. - Responsibilities: Worship services of all kinds, candle lighters, greeters, ushers, musicians, music, communion, decorations.

Endowment and Gifts Committee meets the third Thursday at
7:30 p.m. in January and October, 8:00 p.m. in April and July.

Deacons meet quarterly in the church parlor.
